Enjoy a Protocol Friendly Latte

Making a Latte

Do you ever feel like you are deprived of your morning latte on a cold fall/winter morning?  Don’t feel that way any longer – you can and should continue to enjoy a latte.

Ingredients:

  • Coffee*
  • 1/2 container of Ideal Protein Vanilla Pre-Made Drink

  • Cinnamon (if desired)

Directions:

  • Brew a 6 or 8 oz cup of coffee (depending on the size of your mug)
  • Gently heat 1/2 the container of Vanilla Pre-Made (20 – 30 secs in microwave depending on whether you store in the fridge or cupboard)
  • Once pre-made is warmed, froth to your desired consistency (I like lots of froth)
  • Pour frothed pre-made into the coffee (similar to the way your barista adds it)
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired.
  • ENJOY!!

This will actually provide you with two Ideal Protein servings; however watch your coffee intake and ensure you compensate with extra water.

* Substituting Tea

If you would like to enjoy a LONDON FOG, then substitute the coffee with your favourite blend of Earl Grey Tea (I brew it a little stronger)

or

If CHAI LATTE is one of your favourites, then substitute the coffee with your favourite blend of Chai Tea (I find Masala Chai to be a great blend, and again, brew it a little longer)

I hope one of these will take the chill off on cooler mornings and evenings.  Frequently I will use half the pre-made in the morning, with coffee and then enjoy a nice London Fog in the evening, with the balance of the pre-made.

Ideal Protein Protocol Bread

IP Bread
This recipe can be made using any of the Ideal Protein soups (except chicken noodle – not tried it, so not sure how it would work).

Ingredients:

  • Egg whites (beaten) from 2 large or 3 small eggs
  • 1 package IP Soup (Broccoli/Cheese, Leek, and Tomato

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Spices to taste (For example, thyme, pepper, garlic powder, curry powder)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 200 C.
  • Beat egg whites (doesn’t have to be stiff … just well mixed)
  • Add in IP Soup package and baking powder; mix until blended
  • Add in spices to taste
  • Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  • Using a spatula, scoop out the dough and spread onto the paper in a rectangle shape (see picture).  Do not spread too thin.
  • Let this rise for about 5 minutes, but it’s not mandatory.
  • Bake for about 10-15 minutes .

I put the baking powder and spices in the IP soup package and gently stirred it all together in the package.  The picture is bread made using the Brocolli/Cheese soup and curry powder.

I also did a light spray of olive oil on the top and lightly sprinkled some salt.

Bread can be sliced in pieces as shown in the picture; however you can also slice through so you can add veggies to make a sandwich.  I would recommend cutting in quarters if you wish to use as two slices of bread.

One Ideal Protein serving.
